BCU Foundation Safety and Rescue Course, North East and Northumberland

Course Fee: £85 per person.
Skilfully delivered by BCU Level 5 coaches, this Foundation Safety and Rescue course will equip you with the key safety and rescue skills to deal with common emergencies, and forms the backbone for all safety and rescue training throughout the BCU scheme. By the end of the course you will have the knowledge to ensure the safety of yourself and others, and to equip you with the basic rescue skills to help anyone in difficulty.
This course is a pre-requisite for the UKCC Level 1 Coaching Award.
The training course will be run over one day.
Venue: Tyne river system in the North East of England
Candidates should be over 14 years of age. Candidates should also hold the BCU 2 Star Award or be of that ability. The course contains a fair amount of swimming, so candidates should be confident in the water.
- Suitable craft for the course (such as Kayak, Open Canoe, Sit on Top etc)
- Dry suit or wetsuit that will keep you warm throughout the day.
