BCU Four Star Leader Training – Sea Kayak, North East and Northumberland

 

Course Dates:

  • 23rd-25th March 2012
  • 17th – 19th September 2012

These courses include the Coastal Navigation and Tidal Planning course which is a pre-requisite for you assessment.  Other dates by arrangement (minimum numbers required).

Course Aims:

Successful performance at this level indicates that a candidate has the skill level required to lead a group of 4 competent paddlers* (not including themselves) in appropriate locations, on moderate tidal water with winds up to Force 4. The emphasis is on the application of strokes to achieve suitable techniques and boat control in real situations.

*Competent = Paddlers who do not require coaching to be in/on that environment.

Venue – North East England

Pre-requisites – BCU Three Star Sea Kayak or equivalent standard is the appropriate level of performance for paddlers to begin working towards the Four Star Leaders Award.
