A selection of comments about the trainings I deliver are-

“I have never had better coaching (in anything, not just canoeing).  A fantastic weekend – mostly down to Kims friendly, positive and enthusiastic coaching.  The benefits extend beyond the weekend as it sets the background for future practice.”

“It was brilliant. Just brilliant.  Kim is a fantastic instructor, demonstrating paddling techniques, spotting and gently correcting all the mistakes and playfully pushing you into doing things you’d rather not.  Kim made it look very easy. But then he made everything look very easy.” – Steven

“Huge thanks to Kim for making me feel able to attempt things and inspiring confidence.  I often think ‘OOoh, I can’t do that!’, but with Kim’s expert coaching I find that – well actually I can! I found the whole day inspiring and I managed things that I never in a million years thought I could do!” – Louise

“I learned more in one day with Kim Bull, than I have in two years of watching videos and reading books etc, then trying stuff on the water…I would strongly advise getting booked up on a proper course, with a real professional.

I had a couple of hours tuition when I first started, a couple of years ago, which was invaluable but the course that Kim ran for us, over the weekend just gone was priceless.” – Steve.

“…a superb teacher who not only was able to explain how but also the why behind the various skills we learnt. The training was all well planned and set out with no “winging it” which gave real confidence in Kim’s knowledge and teaching skill. I have learnt loads and have a lot to practise for my next training session.” – John

“To Kim, for the really excellent instruction, as well as insight into aspects of the art, that had not occurred to me.  Very professional, patient, knowledgeable, inspirational, Oh! and a really nice bloke too” – Steve

“Thanks Kim, excellent instructor putting across your wealth of knowledge superbly, have taken away some very valuable lesson’s which will help me achieve the paddling skills I desire and the safety we all rely on.” – John

“Just to thank you all for a great weekend. I had such a good time and thanks to kim for being so patient and enthusiastic.” – Jeanie

“Great weekend, really enjoyed it. Very informative and fun too.  Great instruction and advice from Kim, covered a lot in 2 days, providing a very solid foundation upon which to build. Very confident now to venture out on the water by myself or with my kids.  Definately a weekend to remember.” – Dave

“Again thanks to Kim for being such a great coach” – Carol

“Thank you once again for a brilliant day-I’ve learned so much and it was much easier than I thought it would be.” – Sharon

“Thanks Kim – and the other attendees too – for an entertaining and enjoyable day spent messing around in and on the water.  Came away with lots of ideas to think about.  Kinda chuffed (with)  myself….!” – Ian

“Excellent instructor and tuition” – Maggie

“Thanks to Kim for a really useful day. Great ideas for rescuing boats and for climbing back into your own boat. Useful tips on planning trips and safety gear (or to be more accurate – using ordinary gear as safety gear).” – Steven

As a BCU Level 3 coach wanting to transfer onto the new BCU/UKCC L3 I recommend the BCU/UKCC Level 2 training as a must, even if you do not wish to transfer, Kim yet again with his skills, develops your coaching mind, and broadens your knowledge, yet more coaching tools to add to your collection!
Kim’s manner, style and approach bring out the best in you, thank you for a very hard working, and stimulating weekend.

Hi Kim, you’ll remember that my family clubbed together for my birthday present to give me a one day 1:1 session with you. Although it was very windy (force 4?) your local knowledge took us to Beadnell Bay, where I had a fantastic confidence building day. Your patience and encouragement meant a lot to me, and my confidence in my own ability has truly been built! Many thanks, Kim.

    Hi Kim,
My Daughter, Leila, and I have just spent a super day being introduced to the delights of kayaking by you.
The weather smiled on us, we saw some lovely scenery, rode a couple of tiny ‘waves’ and had a thoroughly enjoyable day.
Your teaching style was perfect for us. Patient, low key and calmly informative.
Thank you so much. It was a memorable shared birthday present.
    Warm good wishes,

    Hello Kim,
Can I just say a big “Thank You” for a fantastic Introduction to Sea Kayaking weekend.
The weather and sea conditions were very good, and once I had overcome my initial nerves, and managed to come to terms with a new concept of edging, I knew that sea kayaking was the way forward for me. Can I say, I really liked your friendly motivating teaching style, which boosted my confidence. I have a lot to practice now, I need to finish consolidating all the new skills I have been taught this weekend and once I have completed my 2 star award I will be giving Kim a ring to get me started on my 3 star sea Kayaking award over a week this time.
Thank you again Kim, I hope to see you in 2014.
    Best wishes Robin

What a coach! After 4 years and countless sessions with at least 5 different coaches I was still unable to roll. After two 45 minute sessions with Kim I managed 4 out of 5! His style, positive feedback, patience and that something which I can’t really explain ( if you’ve been coached by Kim you’ll know what I mean) was absolutely spot on. Really looking forward to my L1 later in the year.
I know this sounds a bit cheesy, but if you are looking for personal coaching, then stop looking and contact Kim.

I have just spent a full day with Kim on a one to one tuition course, I found the entire day informative and Kim put me at ease from the start. Before meeting Kim I had owned a kayak for six months and had very little confidence in using it. I found his relaxed and calm manner of teaching very reassuring and because of that picked up everything he taught me within the first couple of attempts. I now have the confidence I was lacking in to go out on the sea while I am over on the IOW in the next two weeks. I would recommend anyone wishing to take up kayaking to have a days tuition from Kim, I only wish I had done so sooner.
